Lighting the Burner

Video. Setting up and lighting the gas burner

When lighting a gas burner, follow these steps:

  1. Close the gas control valve on the gas burner.

  2. Connect tubing to the gas inlet nozzle on the burner.

  3. Connect the tubing to a gas source.

  4. Open the gas source (at this point, no gas should be entering the room.

  5. As the control valve on the gas burner is slowly opened, bring a lit match or striker near the burner tube from the side. Occasionally the gas will blow a match out. If the match is extinguished, close the control valve while a new match is struck.
